Abstract art does not depict a person, place or thing in our natural world. The subject is based on what you see: color, shapes, brushstrokes, size, and scale. It uses the visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which exists with a degree of freedom from our visual references. The colors themselves incite emotions and can be interpreted in many ways, red may be lively and confident while green is peaceful. The concept of abstracts are emphasized by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of our own visible reality.
Impressionism is powerful

Impressionism captures the transitory imitation or feeling of a scene, rather than a detailed realism. Artwork compositions concentration on the immediate visual impression produced by a scene and by the use of basic bright colors with short brush strokes to replicate the actual reflected effect of light on objects. Impressionism is an artistic style characterized by the use of details and associations to evoke our own sensory impressions.

Expressionism is intense, violent colors painted in a rough structural composition. It expresses emotions through the use of vivid colors and strong, distorted lines, rather than capturing a likeness of our reality. The artist's brush strokes, the visible evidence of the process of creating the painting, together with the use of color, are the focus. These artworks express meaning and draw our emotional experience rather than our material reality. They resent our surroundings from a slanted perspective, distorting it radically for emotional effect in order to evoke moods or emotions in the viewer.

Surrealism stems from the unaware mind. It features strange, hallucinatory visuals or absurd combinations of objects which that we will never encounter in real life. Surrealist artwork uses inventiveness and free association. Surrealist paintings can look like a dream-state, something completely different with baffling associations. This is an artistic strategy with special attention to mythical imagery, as seen in the psychological theories of our modern-day existence.
